“Don’t Let Quitting Be Your Habit”

said Gloria as we Kundalini-ed around the studio last night.

“Breathe as if your breath will make you stronger. It will.”
She dropped truthbombs all over the place as her heart-openers ripped me open.

“Know that you speak to thousands when you speak to one.”
said Susanne as she told me I was now a certified igolu Level One coach.

“Make sure to listen for when their yes actually means yes, and their no actually means no.”
She continued to give me feedback on my coaching to ensure I am being my best.

I head to a kundalini class and I chat with Susanne with about the same cadence: once a quarter or so. Both of those experiences take me out of my comfort zone and make me feel a little exposed. The movement of breath in kundalini leaves no thought unturned nor blockage in my body left unnoticed. It all comes up on the mat.
“Better to let it go here than walk away with it still.”
Susanne also has a brilliant way of refining my soul off the mat. When she coaches me I feel like she knows exactly where I am at, yet never lets go of who she knows I am committed to being. She coaches me on my potential and inspires me to make it happen.

I am grateful for the great teachers I have, both on and off the mat, as they push me to keep exploring inward. And when all I want to do is give up, get out of that pose, change my goal, or run back to what is easy, they remind me to stay in it. And breathe.
