Her out of office read:
“I’m currently out crushing goals at Ironman CdA.
I will be back in the office on June 26th.
If this is urgent, please take a deep breath and go to yoga!”
Yep. That’s my sis. Crushing goals like it’s no big deal.
As I write this I am perched on my chair. No metaphor needed here. I am literally on the edge of my seat starring at my computer screen (wishing the Ironman results page would refresh faster) and waiting for my phone to buzz with a new update from the course from Jo.
This, I remind myself, is what commitment feels like. This excitement, this focus, this longing. This is what it takes. ‘It’ being a relationship, a race, a new business, a life. It all takes this kind of commitment. Not 50%, not “when it’s convenient for me,” not “maybe, someday.” Every moment is a moment to commit (or re-commit) to something that is important to us.
And that is why I love my sis.
Cause as she heads out for a marathon of a run (literally), she’s inspiring her bro all the way across the globe to re-commit to living a happy friggin life.
We’re all with ya out there!
