If you’re like me, you like to analyze your path. You dream big, but plan methodically. You weigh out options to determine the best course of action and then complete the steps that will help accomplish your end goal.
The problem with over-analyzing these “tough choices” is that some steps along our path rely on other people’s approval before you can go any further. Case in point: a job interview, an audition, a signed contract. These turning points in our paths all rely on someone else saying yes.
When we are weighing our options, we sometimes forget that a “no” could be what we hear at these turning points. Someone else could remove one of our options for us! And less options to chose from = an easier decision to make! But instead we don’t apply for the job, we don’t show up to audition, and we don’t put forward a new contract.
The point here is that we turn away from many opportunities in life solely because we have predetermined there is a better one. While that may be true, that course of action shuts a door on ourselves before we even know which doors are fully open.
People will be shutting doors on you your entire life, so don’t do it to yourself. Get out there and show the world you deserve a yes.

Matt,
Wow, I’m believing less and less in coincidence.
This actually really helps with some decisions I’m having to make in the coming weeks. I’ve heard some of the sentiment in other forms before, but this reminder could not have come at a better time!
Take care.

Such great lessons to be learned and remembered – if we don’t put ourselves out there and risk hearing ‘no’ we won’t be ready to accept the GREAT ‘yes’ experiences waiting for us! We have to just keep smilin’ that big grin!!!
