The “To Read” List

My previous boss, rockstar colleague, and many others have given me lists upon lists of books that I “need to read.” While their lists are unique, there seems to be some common books that keep appearing. Here is my list of those books that are making their way to the top:

Disclaimer: This is my “to read” list that doesn’t include all the books by Jim Collins, Seth Godin, Danielle LaPorte, Sun Tzu, David Allen, etc that I have already read. Definitely recommend their work, but c’mon, that was a given!

  1. The Art of the Start: The Time-Tested, Battle-Hardened Guide for Anyone Starting Anything. – Guy Kawasaki
  2. First, Break All the Rules: What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently. – Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman
  3. The Great Game of Business: The Only Sensible Way to Run a Company. – Jack Stack
  4. Green to Gold: How Smart Companies use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage. – Daniel Esty and Andrew Winston
  5. How to Win Friends and Influence People. – Dale Carnegie
  6. Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Don’t. – Chip Heath and Dan Heath
  7. Small Giants: Companies That Choose to Be Great Instead of Big. – Bo Burlingham
  8. A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose. – Eckhart Tolle
  9. Death by Meeting:Solving the Most Painful Problem in Business. – Patrick Lencioni
  10. Free: The Future of Radical Price. – Chris Anderson

Let me know if you have read any of these, or want to add another to the list(s)!

Fantastic list. I’ve read free and it is a great read. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook

Oh and you cannot read “a New Earth” until your have read “the Power of Now”. Power of Now is earth-shatteringly good. Also, the audiobook is fantastic
