Ed Blunderfield made my day. We had just set out on our ride over to West Vancouver when he informed me that we had to stop by his pad on the way back to pick up something he got for me.
Birthday present? Too early.
Milestone I forgot? Nope.
Ed just being awesome? Check.
Ed had gone on a date to see Shane Koyzcan perform some slam poetry at the Vancouver Public Library. Instead of inviting me along (even though I love Shane’s slams third wheels are never fun), he got Shane to sign a copy of his book Visiting Hours for me! For no reason at all.
Now THAT my friends is how you make someone’s day. Random acts of kindness are one thing, but thoughtful acts of generousity are even better.
You know that DQ Blizzard your roommate really likes? That movie your partner has been dying to see with you? That candy dish on your colleague’s desk that could use some more candy lovin?
Take the opportunity today to be thoughtfully generous. Go ahead, make their day.
PS. Check out the video below to see Shane in all his glory. BAM!
