Be Unstoppable

I am a firm believer in the power of a good dance party. There are very few other things that get me as excited as rocking out in my room (or car) to some blaring beats. But sometimes, when you’re in the middle of your favourite move, some stranger (or roommate) walks by and catches you mid-move with that look of “what are you doing” on their face. So you stop, make conversation, and then continue once they’ve left.

There’s where the issue lies though. We stop. We censor ourselves. We put our favourite things to do on hold when it makes us appear to be weird, different, special, or unique. But putting yourself out there is the first step in creating change, leading a tribe, or just celebrating life the way life should be celebrated! Too often we stop ourselves from enjoying the best parts of life and quickly blame our inaction on others.

The rational behind the saying “people can’t drive you crazy unless you give them the keys” applies here too. People can’t stop you unless you let them. So stop letting them!

This guy, however, knows how be “unstoppable.” At first, he’s the complete idiot we are so quick to judge … but he doesn’t stop. And that’s when the magic happens.

Looking to create change or be a great leader? Be unstoppable!

Pick of the post: Nathan Angela – I Want You Back … and yes, I had a dance party to this song as I finished this post. BOO YAH!

  1. Incredibly accurate! I've been working on 'becoming unstoppable'. Over time I've grown tired of having to stop doing something I enjoy for fear of someone else judging my behaviour. It comes from that need to be able to justify everything we do, and that urge right there stops us many many times from really enjoying ourselves.

  2. Wow he was doing that during Santigold too? I was in the front crowd for all of monday it was crazy.

But that guy in the small shorts danced the entire NIN show too, and encouraged a crowd of people to join him too.

  3. Absolutely awesome post man. I was at Sasquatch and saw that happen, totally cool. You've put some great thoughts together here.

    Rock on man.
