After an incredibly long week of graduation and alumni celebrations, it’s finally time to kick up my heels for some much needed down time. Going through my Google Reader to catch up on my blogs (and procrastinate from finishing a paper), I stumbled across a great post by one of my new favourite blog squads: SuperForest.
In the post, they included this amazing short film about the power of a smile and of a few kind words. Warning – it’s 16 minutes, but sit back and enjoy cause it is worth every second!
Over the past 6 days, myself and many other alumni volunteers helped out at graduation, taking photos for the families and friends of the new grads. In all honesty, hilarious student speeches aside, it was the best part of my week! Seeing the proud smiles of parents and friends – MAN – it was simply energizing! Whenever you take a picture for someone, you just can’t help but smile back at them. Smiling is simply the best endorphin rush one could ask for in a hectic time like the past week has been.
To end it off, I want to extend a huge congrats to all those who proudly wore a smile this past week. “You are GREAT! You are AMAZING!”
