A Hero A Day
If there’s something I love more than big crazy dreams, it’s the individuals that actually go out and make those dreams a reality. My roommate, Adam Martin, has set out his dream for 2009:
“Starting January 1, 2009 it is my goal to profile True Canadian Heroes from across the country. Specifically to profile one new hero everyday for the entire year. By doing this I hope to allow these great people to inspire a larger community then they are already reaching, to provide an opportunity to build connections between people who are doing great things, and to publicly provide information on how society can assist these people in their efforts. … [I want to] provide recognition to these unsung heroes, many of whom are too humble to ever speak up themselves. I think it goes with out saying that its part of why we appreciate them so much.“
Wow!
I can already think of three people I would consider an unsung hero in my life (and boy are their stories amazing), but I’m not gonna tell you about them on this blog. I’m going to nominate them here and hopefully Adam will select one (or all) of them to profile. His blog has already received incredible traffic and it’s only the 4th day of the year! There are still 361 heroes left to profile!!
I firmly believe that the best thing you can do is sing someone else’s praises. To stand up for someone you believe in. To publicly thank those that have impacted your life.
So – who is your True Canadian Hero?
